We will be offering youth programs during school vacations to students in grades 1 through 8. Whether you want to learn how to cook, try out a new career, participate in recreational sports or become engaged in academic enrichment, we have something for you! Minuteman Community Education runs two programs during school vacation weeks in February and in April.

Aspiring Chefs: See what’s cooking!
Put on an apron and pull up your sleeves! You’ll be cooking in a professional kitchen and making lots of goodies. Of course, you’ll get to sample your cooking and bring some home for your family!

Beginner Baking: It’s a piece of cake!
In this hands-on baking class we will do a little bit of everything, from proper recipe reading and measuring cup use to decorating a cake with basic designs. Go home with mouth watering bakery treats such as cinnamon rolls, brownies, cookies, muffins, cakes, quick breads and much more!

STEM goes STEAM
Sign up for an Engineering Adventure as STEM goes STEAM! This course will integrate Arts into STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Match). This will be a 4-day workshop that aims to develop creativity, problem solving, critical thinking, communicatinos, self-direction, initiative, and collaboration.
Teen Stone Carving
Teens will learn how to carve stone (alabaster) and learn all parts of this fascinating ancient medium. Students will learn the whole process of stone carving from the beginning chisels, to the files and finishing process. Students are encouraged and helped to produce the type of work that interests them. Class discussion and demonstration accompany many peaceful hours of working and connecting with the stone. No previous experience required. Tools and stone are included in the class fee. This is for ages 10+.
Wild World Safari
Explore the wacky world of nature. Take a look at some of your favorite wild animals and determine if they are predators or prey. Learn to identify track patterns and compare animals in the wild to our domesticated pets. Creep with big cats and lope like coyotes. Explore extreme habitats like melting glaciers and learn about our planet's natural resources. Experiment with lenses and prisms to find a rainbow.
Refund policy: A $10 processing fee will be charged for all refunds. Full refunds, minus the $10 processing fee, will be issued when a student withdraws from a course no later than the Monday, April 11, 2016. A 75% refund, minus the $10 processing fee, will be issued to students withdrawing later than Monday, April 11, 2016 and prior to the second class. No refunds will be issued after the second class.
